Für den Ausbau der Zufahrtsstraße zum Bahnhof, nahm die Gemeinde das Angebot des Festungskommandanten auf dem hohen Asperg an, französische Kriegsgefangene gegen einen Stundenlohn von 20 Pfennig zu den Arbeiten zu verwenden. Der Bahnbetrieb Ludwigsburg- Möglingen- Markgröningen konnte erst am 4. Dezember 1916 in Betrieb genommen werden. Aufgrund der Kriegszeit fand keine Einweihungsfeier statt. Quelle: Gemeinde Möglingen 2000, Albrecht Gühring ISBN 3-923107-09-9 Die seit 2005 stillgelegte Bahnstrecke soll seit 1991 reaktiviert werden.
