Sonstiges spotted by Hendrik Beierstettel: “Die (ehem.) Funktion dieser Säule ist noch nicht geklärt. Die Säule hat oben mehrere rechteckige Einkerbungen. Womöglich waren hier hölzerne oder blecherne Schilder/Wegweiser befestigt, womit es eine sog. Armsäule wäre. Die Säule steht nicht mehr in ihrem massiven Sockel (Tiegelstein), einem über 400kg schweren Sandsteinbrocken, sondern scheint herausgenommen und sorgsam direkt dahinter wieder aufgestellt worden zu sein. Wieso dies geschah, ist noch nicht geklärt. Das Kleindenkmal steht an der Gemarkungsgrenze Großrinderfeld - Gerchsheim, vermutlich an einer alten Wegkreuzung (Wenkheim - Schönfeld und Großrinderfeld - Gerchsheim). Ein Flurstück in der Nähe hat den Namen Zollstock, das wäre also auch eine Option. Oder es ist ein Territorialstock.
