Aesculus x carnea
- Height: up to 20 m
- Trunk: greyish-brown bark, smooth to scaly, usually growing in a clockwise spiral
- Crown: rounded to broadly domed, densely closed
- Leaves: palmately lobed, consisting of 5 leaflets, up to 15 cm long, double-serrated margin, dark green and slightly glossy, long petiole, club-shaped at the base
- Buds: egg-shaped, yellow-brown
- Flowers: conspicuous, large, erect panicles in April/May, light red to red
- Fruits/Seeds: large, yellow-green, spherical, barely spiny capsules containing 1–3 shiny seeds
- Other: more resistant to the horse chestnut leaf miner than the common horse chestnut; fruits are inedible and mildly toxic; a hybrid of the common horse chestnut and the red pavie
