Prunus domestica
- Height: up to 15 m
- Trunk: reddish-brown to grey, smooth to fissured
- Crown: rounded, spherical, or broad, open
- Leaves: alternate, obovate with a pointed tip, approx. 3–8 cm long, initially hairy on both sides, later with a bare upper surface, serrated margin, petiolate
- Buds: bud scales overlap like roof tiles
- Flowers: white flowers, short-stalked, 2–3 in clusters, appearing with new growth in March/April
- Fruits/Seeds: egg-shaped, roundish, or elongated stone fruit; yellow, red, or purple in colour; sweet to tart yellow flesh; smooth stone; in August through October
