Sorbus spp.
- Height: up to 15 m, exceptions up to 25 m
- Trunk: occasionally multi-stemmed, bark smooth, silvery-grey to dull grey, bark easily fissured with age
- Leaves: alternate, oval to broadly ovate, 6–8 cm long, base conical, underside often hairy, serrated, toothed, pinnate, or lobed depending on the species
- Flowers: white flowers, 1–2 cm wide each, in broad corymbs
- Fruits/Seeds: small fruits, 1–2 cm in size, oblong to spherical, orange to coral red, in clusters; bird-feeding shrub
