- Trunk: grey-brown bark, longitudinally fissured, furrowed
- Leaves: alternate, distinctly lobed, 6–17 cm long
- Buds: Light brown buds clustered at the ends of branches
- Fruits/Seeds: egg-shaped with a cap (cupule)
