Acer spp.

• Height: There are many maple species, ranging from shrub-like to large trees
  Trunk: Bark varies (smooth to longitudinally fissured to scaly)
• Leaves: opposite, usually 3–7-lobed, palmately lobed, 5–20 cm in size, opposite leaves
• Fruits/Seeds: Fruits with winged samaras for wind dispersal
• Other: 3 native maple species and countless others from other countries
